Mini Review Round Up.

This is the part of my blog when i tell you what i’ve watched recently and i write a few lines about each movie about how i feel about it.

Million Dollar Baby (2004)

Clint Eastwood, Morgan Freeman and Hilary Swank all feature in this brilliant tale of two people, poles apart being brought together through passion and common interest. Was it deserving of all of it’s awards and nominations, notably an Oscar win. The cast are brilliant, the plot is like…Woah. The whole thing is prime Oscar bait and by god did i take it, and you should too.

9/10

Se7en (1995)

The first thing to say about this movie is that it’s not biblical bile, its a disturbing and clever thriller that has a star studied cast. It’s got some moments of disturbance within it that even for someone who is very rarely effected by films, i felt a little sick. Kevin Spacey’s monotone makes the villain ever so more menacing, i mean it’s shocking but not scary. The chemistry of Brad Pitt and Morgan Freeman is nice and comforting, the ending is good also, it’s not all happy and smiley,  it’s harsh.

8/10

A Perfect World (1993)

This film leaves nothing out, from abduction to sodomy it covers it all, but seems to dust over it with a hearty tale. Kevin Costner’s character is not only douchey but psychotic but we feel an endearment because of his shine for the young child. There are some great performances but it becomes a little cat and mouse at times and boring at others which is a shame, i also felt little emotion at it’s dramatic end.

7/10

Watchmen (2009)

Zach Snyder again delivers something that is visual spectacle and a great overall adaption of the comic. The characters are all played very well, especially Rorschach who is the most charismatic and disturbing narrator you will find in a movie. The action is brilliant and not too over the top and the story is good even with it’s plot holes. I think it focused too much on the loose thoughts of Dr Manhattan, it gets boring and you loose interest, we flick between his dreams, visions and past/future throughout. It’s quite awesome though, shame there won’t be a sequel.

8/10

The Lion King (1994)

I will always have a special place in my heart for this film. It’s beautiful, it’s plot is amazing, the characters and voices are perfect and it has developed the stretch of the demographic for animation world wide. There are so many scenes that i know off by heart, the music is probably the most memorable. Scar is the perfect villain, the final fight scene is marvelous, fuck it, i wanna fuck this film.

10/10….Sorry my youth just took over.

I’ve watched a few more films but i’m tired, YAWN. So i’ll update tomorrow.

Watchmen (2009)
Just watched this pretty good adaption, well it’s visually very good. Rorschach is by far the best character, in fact i would of been happier to watch two hours of his crime fighting twisted life.
